Jun 16, 2024 · Mark Stewart (born in Bristol on 28 April 1960; died 21 April 2023) was a British musician and founding member of The Pop Group. He makes polemical noise-funk with a hip-hop reggae dub feel and has recorded for On-U Sound Records and Mute Records.
Really interesting stuff. They seem really in my range of interests. Political, unique, eclectic and kind of multifaceted. There are parts ithat remind of the Pop Group that remind me of The Birthday Party and one of Stewart's solo songs seems like Gus Gus riffed on it decades later. So now what? What do you know?
