It'll End in Tears is the first album released by 4AD collective This Mortal Coil, an umbrella title for a loose grouping of guest musicians and vocalists brought together by label boss Ivo Watts-Russell. The album was released on 8 October 1984, and reached #38 on the UK Albums Chart.
And so they did, on three albums, "It’ll End In Tears" being the first one. The voices of Elisabeth Fraser (Cocteau Twins) and Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance) are those from sirens, emphasizing the overall fatal beauty this album exhales.

It’ll End In Tears, being This Mortal Coil’s first and most approachable album is none the less a wonderful forgotten gem. Released in 1984, almost none of this record sounds outdated. Produced in the classic 4AD sound, by washing the music over with a number of keyboard and reverb treatments.
