ITOCHU's founder, Chubei Itoh, commenced linen trading operations. (ITOCHU Corporation established) When Chubei Itoh I was 15 years old, he began itinerant trading in linen, traveling to Osaka and Kishu. In the following year, he traveled as far as Nagasaki via Okayama, Hiroshima, and Shimonoseki.
