Since 1988 I have been active as a director, producer and writer of feature documentaries, feature films and TV drama. I have made a number of documentaries in Africa, Asia and the USA. With three friends I made the 1994 prize winning feature documentary film ‘Rock ’n Roll Junkie’ about Herman Brood.
Ton van der Lee has directed and produced more than 20 feature documentaries and series in Europe, Africa and the US. He has also written and produced TV drama and feature films. His films have been broadcast in many countries and have been shown at a number of international festivals.
Ton van der Lee is a writer and a film maker. He has travelled extensively in Africa. He wrote a number of books about the continent, notably 'Solitaire: A Home in the Namib Desert' about his three year stay in the Namib Desert in the 1990s, when Namibia had just become independent.
