Wei Lu is a tenured professor and associate chair for facilities and planning in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan. His research interests include energy storage and electrochemistry, nano/microstructure evolution, mechanics in nano/micro systems, and advanced manufacturing.
I received B.S. in Physics (ranked 2nd in class) with minor in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 1996, and Ph.D. in Physics (Best Thesis in Physics and Astronomy) from Rice University, Houston, TX in 2003.
