Virgin Australia Holdings Limited is the holding company that owns and operates Virgin Australia and Virgin Australia Regional Airlines. It previously operated Pacific Blue Airlines, Tigerair Australia and joint-venture airline Polynesian Blue which were absorbed into Virgin Australia in December 2011.
Virgin Australia is an Australian-based mid-market "hybrid" airline, with core features of a low-cost carrier along with some elements of full-service airlines. It is one of two active airlines (the other being Virgin Atlantic) to use the Virgin brand, as well as the larger by fleet size.
