Eva Mozes Kor (January 31, 1934 – July 4, 2019) was a Romanian-born American survivor of the Holocaust. Along with her twin sister Miriam, Kor was subjected to human experimentation under the direction of SS Doctor Josef Mengele at the Auschwitz concentration camp in German-occupied Poland during World War II.
Eva Mozes Kor died on July 4th, 2019. She was a survivor of the Holocaust, forgiveness advocate, and public speaker. Powered by a never-give-up attitude, Eva emerged from a trauma-filled childhood as a brilliant example of the human spirit's power to overcome.
In 1995, Eva opened a museum in Terre Haute, Indiana. The museum continues to educate thousands of visitors about the horrors of Auschwitz and the dangers of prejudice. Eva’s hologram tells her story through Illinois Holocaust Museum’s Abe & Ida Cooper Survivor Stories Experience.
Eva Mozes Kor was a twin who survived Dr. Mengele's experiments at Auschwitz. She later founded CANDLES, an organization that helps other survivors of Nazi atrocities.
