A French tourist accepts a ride in a Cadillac from a criminal who has hidden drugs and jewels in the car. He faces various dangers and complications on his way to Bordeaux.
Synopsis. Modeste représentant de commerce, Antoine Maréchal s’apprête à partir en vacances en Italie lorsque, en plein Paris, sa 2CV est mise en pièces par la Bentley d’un homme d’affaires, Léopold Saroyan. Antoine, désespéré, dit adieu à ses congés. Mais dès le lendemain, il est convoqué par Saroyan.

Le Corniaud est un film comique franco - italo - espagnol réalisé par Gérard Oury, sorti en 1965. Le tournage dont l'action principale se déroule en Italie, a lieu du 31 août au 7 décembre 1964 .
The plot of Le Corniaud was inspired by the real-life case of a French television presenter, Jacques Angelvin, who was arrested in America whilst in possession of a Cadillac on which was concealed fifty kilograms of pure heroine. Angelvin protested his innocence, claiming to have been duped - in a similar way to the hero of Le Corniaud.
