Orizuru Osen (折鶴お千, lit. "Osen of the paper cranes"), also titled The Downfall of Osen, is a 1935 Japanese silent film directed by Kenji Mizoguchi starring Isuzu Yamada. It is based on a short story by Kyōka Izumi.

She prevents him and they are both taken in by a gang of some kind, but Osen breaks them free by ratting on the gang to the police and devotes her life to earning money to send him to medical school. A moment of happiness as he studies.

The Downfall of Osen is based on Izumi’s 1920 novel Baishoku kamo nanban. The original title combines a reference to prostitution with the name of a noodle dish flavoured with duck and spring onions; Mizoguchi was obliged to change it, he said, because “it was a little too obscene”.
