The White Sound ( German: Das weisse Rauschen) is the directorial debut of Austrian director Hans Weingartner, with co-director and screenplay writer Tobias Amann. The film was the idea of both students as part of a separate project at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne.
Jan 31, 2002 · Featured review. 8/10. Wow. "Das weiße Rauschen" is probably the first movie that succeeded in giving its audience insight into the tortured mind of a schizophrenic person. "A Beautiful Mind" hammed up the subject by combining it with a love story and mystery elements. This movie, however, is real.
Lukas, a young schizophrenic man, has to deal with a new town, a new relationship, and the paranoia in his head.
