Birth of Kitarō: The Mystery of GeGeGe (Japanese: 鬼太郎誕生 ゲゲゲの謎, Hepburn: Kitarō Tanjō: GeGeGe no Nazo) is a 2023 Japanese animated supernatural dark fantasy film directed by Gō Koga and written by Hiroyuki Yoshino based on the GeGeGe no Kitarō manga by Shigeru Mizuki.
GeGeGe no Kitarō focuses on the young Kitarō—the last survivor of the Ghost Tribe—and his adventures with other ghouls and strange creatures of Japanese mythology.
Synopsis. Mizuki visits a village ruled by the Ryuga, with the goal to mourn the now dead head of the family and a secret mission. There he meets Kitaro's father looking for his wife, and together, they have to uncover mysteries of the family.

The Birth of Kitarō: Mystery of GeGeGe (鬼太郎誕生 ゲゲゲの謎 Kitarō Tanjō GeGeGe no Nazo) is a movie focusing on Kitarō's birth. Announced in Shigeru Mizuki's 99th birthday festival as one of the four projects on March 7, 2021, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Shigeru Mizuki's birth.[1]
