The screenplay by Tom Rowe and Gary Goddard is loosely based on the novel Tarzan of the Apes by Edgar Rice Burroughs, but from the point of view of Jane Parker.
James Parker is in Africa looking for a mythical white ape when his wife dies. He is joined by his estranged daughter, Jane. Together, they learn this white ape is Tarzan, a man who was raised by apes in the jungle.
Jim Parker, his beautiful daughter, Jane, and safari photographer Holt embark on an expedition to the wilds of Africa in search of the fabled elephants' graveyard. Instead they find Tarzan, The Ape Man. While Jane is swimming in a secluded pool, Tarzan kidnaps her. Jim threatens the jungle lord, but Tarzan soon returns Jane unharmed--and smitten.
