Dec 29, 2012 · Living legend of the law, Hira Lal Sibal, who had fought the case of eminent Urdu writers Saddat Hassan Manto in 1945 and witnessed the evolution of country's legal system, breathed his last at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research Chandigarh.
Mr. Sibal was elected as the President of the High Court Bar Association in 1964 and 1975. He was appointed Advocate General of Punjab (1968-1969 and 1970-1972) and then of Haryana from 4.2.1985 to 11.7.1986 and from 24.6.1991 to 10.5.1996.
