About Us. Our school crest takes the shape of the Begonia leaf. The begonia is a red-flowering plant with dark green leaves. It is hardy and survives in almost any kind of condition. Students are encouraged at all times to emulate the enduring qualities of the Begonia.
Zhonghua Secondary School (ZHSS) is a co-educational government autonomous secondary school in Serangoon, Singapore. Founded in 1911 as Chung Hwa Girls' High School, the school has retained its Chinese heritage despite transforming into an English-medium government school in 1990.
Completed in 1951, the building at Bartley Road, known as the main school, housed the secondary school section named Chung Hwa Girls’ High School. The primary school, known as the sub-school, remained at Niven Road.
