Sir Samuel Frederick Edwards FRS FLSW (1 February 1928 – 7 May 2015) was a Welsh physicist. The Sam Edwards Medal and Prize is named in his honour.
Sam Edwards was one of the leading physicists of the second half of the twentieth century. He was Cavendish Professor at the University of Cambridge, a Vice President of the Royal Society, a member of the Académie des Sciences and of the US National Academy, and a senior figure in the university and his college.
