May 5, 2020 · In 1998, Golden Harvest’s co-founder, Leonard Ho, died suddenly. It was a huge shock to all at the company – and especially Raymond Chow. Ho had shunned the limelight during his career, but with Chow they were the driving forces behind the success of Golden Harvest. Chow had lost a business partner and a close friend.
Ng gave birth to his illegitimate son Felix Chow (鄒重珏) in 1960, followed by a second son Terence Chow (鄒重瑾), in 1963. However Chow was unable to give Ng and their illegitimate children any legitimacy due to his marriage to Yuen, chose to separate with them but continued with financial support.
Notable names in the company include its founders, the veteran film producers Raymond Chow ( 鄒文懐) and Leonard Ho ( 何冠昌 ). Chow and Ho were executives with Hong Kong's top studio Shaw Brothers but left in 1970 to form their own studio. They succeeded by taking a different approach from the highly centralised Shaw model.

They include Mr Raymond Chow, founder of Golden Harvest; Mr Albert Lee, a major figure in the company’s overseas distribution business; and Mr Louis Sit, Production Manager from Golden Harvest’s early years.
