New Brighton is located on the east bank of the Beaver River, about two miles from its junction with the Ohio River. It is spread along and over four natural terraces and parts of six surveyor's plots called tracts. The terraces are respectively 30, 80, 125, and 215 feet above the low water line of the Beaver.
