Mar 16, 2024 · “In collaboration with Bernama and the Malaysian government, Jom Kita Bincang will now meet Jom Baca, the annual national reading campaign that is a shining example of the kind of efforts needed to strengthen reading skills,” he revealed in a letter to the press ( Star, 23 April 2024).
Studies have shown that Malaysians are not reading enough with less than three hours a week spent on this activity, a far cry from reading habits among citizens in India who allocate over 10 hours a week reading while Thais and China nationals spend between eight to nine hours a week.
