The objective of The Boys’ Brigade is to provide a meaningful and enjoyable programme of educational, physical, social, and spiritual interests, based on the “Twin Pillars” of Christian Faith and Discipline, guided and mentored by the Officers of the Brigade.
The Boys’ Brigade Asia was officially inaugurated on 26 July 2003 in Johor Baru, Malaysia when The Boys’ Brigade representatives from Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand signed a memorandum of agreement giving birth to the regional association.
The Boys’ Brigade is open to all children and young people, aged from 6 to 21, of any religion (excluding Islam, as per the Malaysian law) and background. Eligibility for joining will be different, depending on the Companies, as some Companies are for Boys only whilst others are open to Boys and Girls.
What is The Boys’ Brigade all about? We provide opportunities for children and young people to learn, grow and discover in a safe, fun and caring environment which is rooted in the Christian faith. Over 20,000 children and young people get involved every week.
The Boys’ Brigade in Malaysia is recognised by the various Malaysian government agencies like the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development.
The Boys’ Brigade was the first voluntary uniformed youth movement in the world and many of today’s organisations for young people can trace their roots back through history to The Boys’ Brigade.
