Movie Synopsis. Lightning McQueen is living in the fast lane – until he hits a detour and gets stranded in Radiator Springs; a forgotten town on Route 66. There he meets a heap of hilarious characters who help him discover there's more to life than fame.

Plot. In a world populated by anthropomorphic vehicles, the Dinoco 400 race marks the climax of the Piston Cup season. The event intensifies a rivalry between the retiring seven-time champion, Strip "The King" Weathers, the cunning Chick Hicks, and the talented but overconfident rookie, Lightning McQueen.
The story of Cars is set in an alternate universe where every character is a vehicle of various sorts, whether that be an automobile, an aircraft and a watercraft.
