Emo came from post hardcore music / punk rock music, so emo is its own music genre and fashion style. Now I might be wrong about this but scene is a subgenre directly inspired by emo along with some early 2000s YouTube and Japanese culture. Emo requires more darker and simpler outfits while scene requires multi colors and emo elements as well.
