The village maintains its own accredited law enforcement agency the Amityville Police Department known for very fast response times to calls.
First settled in the 1600’s, it was not until March 3rd, 1894 that it became the Incorporated Village of Amityville. Within the Village boundaries, there are numerous parks and public spaces for all to enjoy.
