Braniewo ([braˈɲɛvɔ]) (German: Braunsberg in Ostpreußen, Latin: Brunsberga, Old Prussian: Brus), is a town in northern Poland, in Warmia, in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, with a population of 16,907 as of June 2021. [1]
Braniewo (German: Braunsberg) is in the Warmia-Masuria area of north-east Poland. The church was rebuilt from scratch in 1979 after being destroyed in World War II. Facing the tower are war-scarred buildings with patched bullet holes.

Geographically, it lies on the north-western edge of the Warmia Plain and the Staropruski Coast, just at the Pasleka River estuary to the eastern part of the Vistula Lagoon.
The Muzeum Ziemi Braniewskiej (Museum of the Brainew Region) was opened in 2016 and is run by a non-governmental organization which, loosely translated, could be described as the Friends of Braniewo Society. This museum features exhibits about the history of this area of Poland.
