Holland Landing Park is accessible from the north side of Doane Rd. east of Yonge St. This park includes sports fields, picnic areas, and a bike park. Holland Landing Park also connects to a series of trails including the Anchor Park Trail and the Holland Landing Conservation area.
Holland Landing is best known today for its local relic of the War of 1812, an anchor said to be capable of holding the largest ocean frigate. I have heard several stories about this anchor over the years.

May 6, 2003 · For centuries, Native Canadians used a route linking lakes Ontario and Huron as part of an extensive trading network. Beginning from the mouth of the Humber River, the route ran overland to the Holland River and then, by canoe, down the river and across Lake Simcoe to the site of present-day Barrie.
Apr 2, 2021 · Holland Landing Prairie Provincial Nature Reserve protects one of the few remaining remnant patches of tallgrass prairie in Ontario. It is located in the Town of East Gwillimbury, just south of Lake Simcoe and is situated on deep sand and silt deposits of the prehistoric Lake Algonquin that existed at the time of the last ice age.
