Holyrood is a town on the Avalon Peninsula in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It is in Division 1, on Conception Bay. It is approximately a 30-minute drive from the capital city of St. John's. During King William's War, the village was destroyed in the Avalon Peninsula Campaign.

By 1982 town services included a water and sewer system, recreational facilities, a fire hall, garbage collection and street lighting. In 1967 the Royal Canadian Mounted Police established a detachment. Over the years a number of various industries have existed in Holyrood.
Like many other names in Newfoundland, Holyrood suggests a sense of religious fervor and faith. The earliest settlement is believed to be in 1689, the Martin O’Neil property, which was located at the center of the main beach.

Holyrood, NL, incorporated as a town in 1969, population 1995 (2011c), 2005 (2006c). The Town of Holyrood is located at the head of Conception Bay on the Avalon Peninsula about 50 km west of St John's. The name Holyrood means "Holy Cross", and may refer to Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh, Scotland.
