City of McGregor, Iowa. The City of McGregor is located in Clayton County in northeast Iowa. The Mississippi River borders the east side of the town with steep bluffs surrounding the community on the north, west and south sides which gives McGregor its nickname, “The Pocket City."
We heard so much about the historic town of McGregor. It is very old and some really cool old buildings. We love exploring and we walked the while downtown about 5-6 blocks. Unfortunately most places were closed, out of business or empty.
