He began composing music scores for films in the early 1990s, working on several successful British movies, enjoying particular success with the soundtracks to Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) and Snatch (2000).
English composer John Murphy spent much of the ‘80s playing in a series of cult New Wave bands. In the early ‘90s, he began scoring independent projects and short films, eventually catching the ear of director Guy Ritchie, who tapped Murphy for his break-out comedy Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels.
