Centre College was founded by Presbyterian leaders and officially chartered by the Kentucky Legislature on January 21, 1819. The name reflects the College’s location in the geographic center of Kentucky; British spellings were common at the time. Jun 29, 2023 · The Centre College Athletics Hall of Fame has grown by four with the Class of 2022. Emily Bachert ’12, Chrys Jones ’11, Chris Morris ’11 and Maggie Prewitt de Saint Etienne ’12 were recognized during Centre’s 2022 homecoming festivities, Oct. 15.
