Jun 27, 2024 · About Highgate School. Highgate School is a private day school for boys and girls in the leafy suburb of Highgate in north London. It was founded in 1565 by Sir Roger Cholmeley, a ‘well-beloved and faithful subject’ of Queen Elizabeth I. The school comprises a prep-prep, junior and senior school and educates over 1,900 children.
In September 2024, we look forward to welcoming 60 new children into our Pre-Prep. Places available are for those born between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020.
May 25, 2018 · Kyffin (rhymes with ‘puffin’) Williams taught art at Highgate from 1944 to 1973, mostly part-time. On becoming an RA in 1974 he moved back to his native Anglesey to paint full-time and became one of Wales’s most cherished artists.
