Né en 1974, Christoffer Boe sort diplômé de la National Film School du Danemark en 2001, où il réalise trois courts métrages, Obsession, Virginity et Anxiety qui obtiennent le Prix du cinéma nordique. Son premier long métrage, Reconstruction, remporte la caméra d’Or à Cannes en 2003.
