産婦人科 医の父と元 アナウンサー の母のもとに生まれる。 出生時から眼球が成長しない「 小眼球症 」と呼ばれる原因不明の 障害を負っていた 。 筑波大学附属盲学校 （現在は視覚 特別支援学校 ）小学部を経て [4] 、 東京音楽大学付属高等学校 （ピアノ演奏家コース） [5] 、 上野学園大学 （演奏家コース/ピアノ専門） [1] 卒業。 1995年 （ 平成 7年）、7歳で全日本盲学生音楽コンクール（現： ヘレン・ケラー記念音楽コンクール ）器楽部門ピアノの部第1位受賞。 10歳となった 1998年 （ 平成 10年）、 三枝成彰 スペシャルコンサートで 本名徹次 指揮、 大阪センチュリー交響楽団 と共演し、鮮烈なデビューを飾った。
