Peyton Place is an American prime-time soap opera that aired on ABC in half-hour episodes from September 15, 1964, to June 2, 1969. [1] Loosely based upon the 1956 novel of the same name by Grace Metalious, the series was preceded by a 1957 film adaptation.

Plot. The story starts in 1937 and continues through the years following World War II. Lonely and repressed Constance MacKenzie leaves Peyton Place for New York City at a young age and meets a man in the fabrics business named Allison MacKenzie, who already is married with children. Constance becomes pregnant with MacKenzie's child.
