Description and Ethnobotany. A creeper with slender stems cascading giving a curtain feature. Plant can climb but requires support. Green, elliptical leaves with entire to irregularly toothed margin, growing alternately along the stems. Clusters of pinkish white flowers on axillary stems.
This plant that was originated from Burma, Myanmar, turned out to have 3 different scientific names, namely Vernonia elliptica, Vernonia elaeagnifolia, and Tarlmounia elliptica. Each scientific name has a meaning that represents the character of this unique plant, named Lee Kuan Yew.
