Desha Dauchan is a Howard University alumna and a graduate of UCLA Film School (MFA 2002, Directing) where she received the Jim Morrison Award for excellence in directing, the Verna Fields Women in Film Award, the Multicultural Motion Picture Association’s Diversity Award, and the Wasserman Grant.
Desha Dauchan is a San Francisco native who has been intrigued by the arts and particularly storytelling since childhood. She wrote her first play at the age of 10. A Howard University Alumna, she is an MFA graduate of UCLA’s Film School.

15 Mac 2021 · Desha Dauchan is a Bay-Area native, Howard University and UCLA School of Theatre Film & Television Alumna. An award-winning filmmaker, Desha was mentored by filmmaker Kasi Lemmons. Her short film works have screened at Sundance, BlackStar, American Black, Pan African and Urbanworld Film Festivals.
