11 Nov 2020 · Traveling up Deepwater Horizon's rig riser, the natural gas ignited on the platform, resulting in an explosion that killed 11 workers, injured 17 others, and capsized the rig. The rig sank two days later on April 22, at which point it ruptured the marine riser.
