Evolution Entertainment is an American independent entertainment management and film production company. The company was founded in 1998 by Mark Burg and Oren Koules [1] and is best known for executive producing the Saw film series .
The early success of Peak Productions led Koules to a job as the Senior Vice President of Production at Paramount Pictures. In 1998, Koules founded Evolution Entertainment along with film producer Mark Burg, with their first major production being the 2002 thriller film John Q. starring Denzel Washington.
Burg became the sole-owner of Evolution Entertainment in 2011, buying out co-founder Oren Koules. He also became an advisor for Forest Road, a special-purpose acquisition company, in 2020. Burg also co-produced Spiral, the ninth installment from the Saw Franchise.
