The Ohio Theatre is a performing arts center and former movie palace on Capitol Square in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. Known as the "Official Theatre of the State of Ohio", the 1928 building was saved from demolition in 1969 and was later completely restored. The theater was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1977.
The breathtaking details (including the 21-foot-high chandelier!) of its opulent, Spanish-Baroque architecture make any night at the Ohio an event to remember! The Ohio Theatre is located at 39 E. State Street, between 3rd and High Streets, across the street from the Ohio Statehouse.
As one of Ohio’s busiest venues, the theatre presents over 100 performing arts shows a year, as well as world-famous tours, and regular performances from BalletMet, Broadway Across America and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
Does my child need a ticket? To ensure safety, everyone attending shows must have a ticket. If your child will sit on your lap during the performance, you can purchase the cheapest ticket available. It’s not recommended for children under 5 to attend adult shows.
