Polly Samson (born 29 April 1962) is an English novelist, lyricist and journalist. She is married to musician and Pink Floyd's guitarist David Gilmour and has written the lyrics to many of Gilmour's songs, some of which appear on Pink Floyd's last two albums.
Polly Samson is the author of two collections of short stories and two novels, and has written lyrics for three number one albums - Pink Floyd's The Division Bell, David Gilmour's On An Island, and Pink Floyd's The Endless River.
Polly Samson wrote the lyric to Louder Than Words on Pink Floyd's The Endless River which reached the top of the charts in 2014. Her latest novel is A Theatre for Dreamers, published in hardback by Bloomsbury.
