Bivins was down for an 8-count in round three. The official scoring was 6-4 for Bivins 9-1 for Walcott, and 5-4-1 for Bivins but the official with that scorecard gave the decision to Walcott because of the knockdown. The Cleveland Plain Dealer scored 8-1-1 in favor of Walcott.

CLEVELAND -- Jimmy Bivins, a heavyweight boxer in the 1940s and 1950s who defeated some of the greatest fighters of his time, has died. He was 92. Bivins died of complications from pneumonia early Wednesday at an East Cleveland nursing home, according to his family.
