David Mark Silk (born January 1, 1958) is an American former professional ice hockey player. His professional career, which spanned 13 years, included 249 NHL regular season games with the Boston Bruins, Winnipeg Jets, Detroit Red Wings and New York Rangers.

Feb 21, 2020 · Dave Silk was one of the four Massachusetts players who made the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team that stunned the Soviet Union and won the gold medal. He played for the Rangers, Bruins and Germany in his NHL career and still cherishes his Olympic memories.
After the Olympics, Silk left school to play pro hockey. His first year was spent mostly in the American Hockey League, but he played most of 1980-82 with the New York Rangers. He played in the NHL thru 1986, and finished his hockey career with four seasons in Germany.
