Sir Douglas Frank Hewson Packer KBE, OStJ (3 December 1906 – 1 May 1974), was an Australian media proprietor who controlled Australian Consolidated Press and the Nine Network. He was a patriarch of the Packer family .

Sir Douglas Frank Hewson Packer (1906-1974), media proprietor, was born on 3 December 1906 at Kings Cross, Sydney, elder child of Robert Clyde Packer, a Tasmanian-born journalist, and his wife Ethel Maude, née Hewson (d.1947), who came from Ireland.
