Linfield University is one of the oldest institutions of higher learning on the West Coast. It traces its origins to a Baptist-led school established in 1849 in Oregon City. It eventually relocated and was chartered by the Oregon Territorial Legislature in 1858 as the Baptist College at McMinnville.
Degrees and Programs. Linfield University seeks to provide an educational experience through which an individual may develop an understanding of oneself as a person and of the world, and may acquire skills and knowledge which are essential for responsible and creative participation in our society.
