CFM International is a Franco-American aircraft engine manufacturer. The company is a joint venture between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines (formerly known as Snecma) and is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was founded in 1974 to build and support the CFM56 series of turbofan engines.
CFM is the world’s leading supplier of jet engines for single-aisle commercial airplanes. We develop, produce and sell the LEAP and the CFM56 engines.
CFM International, the 50/50 joint company between Safran Aircraft Engines and GE, develops, produces and markets the CFM56 engine and its successor, the LEAP. Created in 1974, the CFM International partnership has been renewed to 2050 and also extended to include services.
