SNCASO (abbreviated from Société nationale des constructions aéronautiques du Sud-Ouest, or commonly, Sud-Ouest) was a French aircraft manufacturer. Created during 1936 as one of seven nationalised aeronautical manufacturing companies, SNCASO became a key French aircraft manufacturer following the end of the Second World War .
The SNCASO SO.9000 Trident is a French jet and rocket powered interceptor aircraft built by aircraft manufacturer SNCASO during the 1950s.
The SNCASO's SO.4000 received a development contract to produce a pair of mockups and a full-scale prototype. The single full-scale aircraft, which performed its first and only test flight on 15 March 1951, would never enter mass production.

May 9, 2023 · French engineers took a Sud-Ouest Espadon prototype interceptor and fitted it with the rocket engine. The SNCASO SO.6020 Espadon. The Espadon was also designed as an interceptor, but was not a successful aircraft. Ground tests were performed with the engine in March 1951.
