Mary Temple Grandin (born August 29, 1947) is an American academic and animal behaviorist. She is a prominent proponent of the humane treatment of livestock for slaughter and the author of more than 60 scientific papers on animal behavior.

Temple Grandin is probably the best-known individual with autism in the United States today, and perhaps in the whole world. She came to popular attention after neurologist and author Oliver Sacks profiled her in a 1993 New Yorker article, “An Anthropologist on Mars.”
