Two Comrades Were Serving takes place during the last few days of the fight for the Crimea of the Russian Civil War. It tells two parallel stories: the titular one, about a mismatched Red Army duo, thrown together by command and circumstances, and another, of a White officer, and the slow collapses of the world around him.
