Sep 21, 2023 · In the final act of “Breakdown,” Jeff discovers that his wife, Amy (played by Kathleen Quinlan), has been kidnapped by a group of criminals led by Red Barr (played by J.T. Walsh). They plan to extort money from Jeff in exchange for Amy’s release. However, Jeff is not one to be underestimated and takes matters into his own hands.
The film was produced by Dino De Laurentiis and Martha De Laurentiis, and released on May 2, 1997 by Paramount Pictures. It is one of the final films featuring Walsh to be released in his lifetime. The film received positive reviews and gained a strong cult following.
