Neeme Järvi ( Estonian pronunciation: [ˈneːme ˈjærʋi]; born 7 June 1937) is an Estonian American conductor. Early life. Järvi was born in Tallinn. He initially studied music there, and later in Leningrad at the Leningrad Conservatory under Yevgeny Mravinsky, and Nikolai Rabinovich, among others.
Neeme Järvi is a renowned conductor who has worked with many orchestras and soloists worldwide. He is also the honorary artistic director for life of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra (ERSO) and a champion of Estonian composers such as Arvo Pärt and Eduard Tubin.
