Christopher Louis Hakius (born December 14, 1971) [1] is an American retired rock drummer best known for his work in Om and Sleep. [2] Around 1990, Hakius was in Asbestosdeath along with Al Cisneros and Matt Pike. Asbestosdeath broke up and the three would form Sleep.
Chris Hakius is a former drummer based out of California. Active from the early 1990s to the late 2000s, Hakius is best known for his tenures as a founding member of the seminal stoner metal band Sleep and the Eastern heavy band Om.
Formed as a duo in 2003 by the rhythm section of the band Sleep (bassist Al Cisneros and drummer Chris Hakius), Om is currently a trio consisting of Cisneros, Emil Amos (drums), and Tyler Trotter (guitar).
