Gadjah Mada University ( Javanese: ꦈꦕꦮꦶꦪꦠꦒꦗꦃꦩꦢ, romanized: Ucawiyata Gajah Mada; Indonesian: Universitas Gadjah Mada, abbreviated as UGM) is a public research university located in Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
Universitas Gadjah Mada was officially established on December 19, 1949 as a national university. Considered as one of the oldest universities in Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada serves as a pillar of educational awakening in Indonesia, and purports to be a defender and disseminator of Pancasila.
Located in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, the 360 acre university comprises of 18 faculties, 68 undergraduate study programs, 23 diploma study programs, 104 master and spesialist study program, and 43 Doctorate study programs.
